Tarryn & Brandon Ponte Vedra Beach Engagement Session | Jacksonville Wedding Photographer

Tarryn and Brandon met at a wedding I photographed! So obviously, I’m a little biased here, but getting to shoot during TWO parts of their love story was a dream. They went to high school together in Ponte Vedra, Florida, but they didn’t know each other because Brandon was a year ahead.  Years later, a childhood friend, Kyle, would get married and invite them both. The rest, as they say, is history! Tarryn has kept up with my work since Mandy and Kyle’s wedding years ago, and she entrusted me to shoot this special Ponte Vedra Beach engagement session.

This session certainly had a personality of it’s own! Tarryn’s advice: “Just have fun with it. It’s so awkward to be told to pose but when you have the right photographer like Jess who can make it fun you can guarantee you will get the pics you have always wanted and dreamed of having.”

I encourage couples to choose locations that mean something to both of them. We started this session on the same wooden bridge Tarryn and Brandon would walk across when they lived in Ponte Vedra. Those early days of dating and long strolls on the beach still hold a special place in their hearts. For their engagement session, they wanted to recreate that. Go back to where it all started. Romantic right!?

When I asked Tarryn what look she was going for, her response was “The one you caught!” (Cue the happy tears)  Making sure we are on the same page is first and foremost! I pride myself in working with couples from the very beginning to make sure everything reflects their personality. You should always feel comfortable in your engagement session, from your outfit to location(s).
